The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services towards the community.
SASSA is going to be rendering providers like new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency said it can be alarmed with regards to the substantial number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a high variety of clients/beneficiaries to access sassa SASSA services.
“That is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office dedicated to service the area on a regular basis. The service position made for intervention ordeals a higher influx of likely beneficiaries, that makes it tough with the Workplace to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more methods to enable the servicing of all consumers and raise usage of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
